SOCIETY SMALL RESEARCH GRANTS AND TRAVEL GRANTS
When resources permit, the T’ang Studies Society
offers funding for small research grants and travel grants to
support scholars studying the Tang dynasty in any discipline. The
guidelines for application, deadlines, and other procedures are
listed below by grant type. For the research grants, a brief
report from the grantee must be submitted to the president of TSS
within one month of completing the supported research.
Applicants for these grants must be members of the Society in good standing. If you are not sure if your membership is current, please email the secretary-treasurer at email@example.com. Please note that applicants may only apply for one type of grant in a given calendar year.
In years when funding is available, the Society will announce the competitions early in the calendar year.
The T'ang Studies Society is proud to contribute
to a conference honoring the late Tang scholar, Antonino Forte, to be held at University of Naples
in autumn 2020.
Membership dues include a subscription to the Society's journal Tang Studies as well as eligibility to participate in Society sponsored events. More information on the benefits of membership and dues payment options is available on the Membership page.
Current dues rates are as follows:
• Individual Memberships: $35
• Student Memberships: $20
As a result of the Society's publication
relationship with the Taylor & Francis Group, all current
members of the Society have online access to the full run of T’ang
